They ain't pretty, but they passed!
Although, my advice to the next person to try this is to BUY A GAS MIG WELDER!!! (or hire one) as it'll take you a fraction of the time, look better and you won't be endlessly trying to fill the holes you burned in your sills.
I opted for 1.5mm steel which was for the best I think. I tried 1mm on a practice and it was no fun at all.

Hmm, Burn Holes
As the metal distorted another rust hole then appeared next to where I had already welded. This meant I had to do another patch. It wasn't pretty!
This one also needed a small second patch because I burned a big hole in the thin metal.
Some anti rust primer and touch-up paint and I was ready for the MOT
Luckily the rest of the sill rust had solid metal under it.
I put Hammerite rust killer primer stuff on it all and then under sealant or touch-up paint after the MOT.
