Afternoon fellas, novice owner of a Migatronic Rally 166 here, not used in anger since last year as too busy landscaping the garden............. MOT time on the rusty taxi and thought I'd have a pop at patching some more metal over the existing patches and all was going well until the mig started buzzing!
Thought it was the wire feed stuck but checked and all seemed ok, then the fuse blew, as did the replacement. After a quick google search which actually bought me to threads on here it seem the rectifier was where I should be looking.
Removed the cover and took off the rectifier and from memory I think two of the five diodes had blown, looks like an old set up as I can't find the diodes on google and they almost look like a fused buzz bar system where as the newer diodes all seem to have wires from them.
The Diodes are marked as follows - 520 ZETEX BY758 400, as I said I can't find anything on google, just wondered if this could be an economical repair or do I just bite the bullet and get a new rectifier? Any advice appreciated cheers
