Hi
I've never welded in my life, so this will be a new experience.
I want to build a couple of fish tank stands eventually out of box steel (likely to be 3mm).
Obviously, I'm going to have to invest time practising before letting myself lose on a real tank stand..
I'm in no hurry to build these and I've always wanted to gave a go welding myself hence why I don't want to outsource the welding to a local shop.
Reading through this site, the Clarkes seems to get good feedback.
Would something like the Clarke MIG151EN be a suitable choice for a beginner, for the type of joins I will be doing (presumably butt joins)?
Out of interest, is there any kind of welder that can be used indoors safely, or is that a total non starter due to sparks and fumes? I ask because one of my potential stand designs would not fit through a house or window door.
Thanks
Al
