Hi all
I am new to this forum, though i have spent a lot of time on the site trying to teach my self to weld.
I have an sip autopluss 150 i have used this to complete many jobs after buying it second hand.
I was struggling with the wire feed speed as it was erratic, i read on this forum that the liner should be cleaned with compressed air or replaced. On looking at the gun there was many issues of were with it so i decided to buy a new trigger as a set (excuse me if i'm getting the name wrong, i mean the pipe from the welder including the gun on the end) Whilst adjusting my wire feed speed the wire did run smooth at a steady speed but whilst adjusting the motor stopped running. I tested the motor with a 12v battery as suggested on the forum and it ran.
i then read this thread:
http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/sip-180dp-no-wire-feed.66651/
My gas also is not working on pressing the trigger. I tried the old gun and the fault still occurred. I tested the relay and this works fine. before testing the pcb (i think that is what its called, the circuit bored that the feed speed switch is attached to) i decided to test the thermal resister after finding this advised on the forum. On testing this i found that it had full resistance (showing 1 on the multi meter when set on the most sensitive oms setting on the meter, and when the thermal resistor is cold) suggesting this part is at fault.
This appears to be the correct part:

and:
https://www.highpowersemiconductors...metal-oxide-zenamic-varistor-now-z15d560-56v/
however as they are from american sites and i am in England the postage is very expensive so i was wondering if there is a suppler closer to home? i also wanted to make sure that i a ordering the correct part and if this would explain my fault. I know there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum so thought it would not hurt to check my thinking/ diagnosis.
the thermal resistor is black (there is also a red one elsewhere on the welder but this one works fine)
their is a number on the thermal resistor which is:
5
z15l560
s ok
I will try and attach some photos but still learning how to use the forum
any help/ advice is very much appreciated
thank you for your time in reading my post
