I’ve been asked to look into replacing some lighting down on the Thames.
Basically a bit of armoured cable has been run over to a mooring dolphin, across the riverbed about 50+ metres.
No idea if it still has power.
They’ve run this cable straight into the bottom of a single fluorescent light batten.
Batten has absolutely disintegrated from the UV and salt!
So I need to light this mooring dolphin permanently at night. So need to wire up a photo sensor.
I’d like to replace with a smaller batten + small floodlight, but they need to be marine grade.
I’ve found these: https://seaforthmarine.co.uk/light/marine-lighting.html
Question is, is it possible to run something like this from a solar panel & battery. In case the power supply is no longer working. It looks like it has been stretched and pulled about by the tide!
