I have just removed a clyinder head with the exhaust manifold attached & found the manifold has a crack running around most of it. I have been toying with getting a TIG welder for a long time and now have a good reason to. can cast iron be welded with a DC TIG machine, or would this repare be best done with a cold weld MMA stick after grinding out the crack & holes drilled to stop the crack running around the manifold. I will leave the manifold bolted to the head to help to stop any distortion as this is scrap now. I am a time served gas/stick welder but have only played around with TIG when I was at collage. Can cast iron be welded with MIG ??
