I have used a conduit bender in the past, but I did have to make my own die and only bent 1 1/4" but still had 2mm wall. worked well but took a bit of force to get it to go
you will need a decent hydraulic bender, im trying to get a die sorted, i got 10 round discs about 9mm thick, had a hole drilled through the middle them sliced them down to roughly the right diameter so when put together they are close to the actual radius of the tube, mine is at a machinist waiting to be finally machined, but you could use car filler to smooth out the radius, or how about oak, its super strong in crush and easier to form, i will be bending 1 3/4 with a 12 gauge wall
hey danny you aint that far from me, if your up for some casting give me a shout i have a decent bender which if you bring the tube over you can use id like to get some formers uptogether and im up for some madcap design, lol
sounds great, the die im making up at the moment is 30 kilos of steel, so no idea how much ali needs melting down to copy it, love to make stuff, when you can cast, mill, weld you can make anything
thanks Mel, math was never my strong point.......
well i have some massive blocks of ali, bet they are 15kg each and got at least 8, so plenty of metal to use
