I'm home, and I'm playing with my new Oerlikon Miniarc 3.2.
4.5" grinder for scale, it's tiny.
Using a No.8 gas lens type shroud at about 8lpm with a 1.6mm red tungsten, here's my first attempts;
First is 1.6mm stainless at 40A, second is 8mm MS at 80A (Obviously too cold to actually weld, just getting my eye in).
The problem I'm having is if I dwindle a little the arc seems to drop down to maybe 5 amps (That's why they're just spots on the stainless). If I started moving as soon as it lit up it worked quite nicely (Two beads in the second pic).
First question for now, how are you supposed to break the arc? I've just been whipping the torch away but that's obviously not doing much in the way of post-gas.
