Actually it comes from the Latin Plumbum which means lead..Plumber, from the word plombier. Plomb, French for lead. What would they know about lead then ? A friend of mine was a plumber and in those days they even used to do the leadwork on roofing jobs.

Amps AC-DC? tungsten size? gas? Gas flow? Filler rod size?
I can guess most of the above!
But because I have never TIG welded lead, I cannot get my head around. If it would zap the heat away or hold it and drop away in failure puddles.
I know what a failure puddle is from learning to AC alloy casting welding and TIG brazing.
