I thought I’d start a thread her for anyone who is in the lead burning game. Myself I own a small engineering company and also a roofing company so the crossover is fairly obvious. But I wanted to mention something which I have discovered of late and its really annoying me.
Its the new brand of O type torches. I recently upgraded a lot of our firms welding and scaffolding systems and one thing I wish I hadn’t bought is the SWP type O torch. I bought 3 of them. They are without a doubt the worst torch I have ever come across. Its so hard to set these up it beggars belief. The threading on the fuel gas and the oxy is ridiculous. It takes anywhere between 5 minutes and 20 minutes to dial in a useable flame for lead. I thought it was me. But everyone had a go. Unfortunately I sold off the all but 1 of the older torches before the problem reared its ugly head. Now I’m reduced to trolling through eBay listings to buy back the older torches we used to use. Never again.
