Keen to Learn

Hi Guys,
I am hoping to learn to weld over the next few months to a standard to carry out some repairs on my T25 camper van.
I have been toying with the idea of learning to auto weld for a while now as I enjoy mechanics as a hobby and can see doing it for a number of years. The final straw came when my quote for some welding on my camper came in at £800
So I thought if I am going to spend that kind of money why not buy the gear, and with patience and practice do the repairs myself.
So the welder... First some key facts:
So far it seems a lot of people in my situation have been recommended Clarke 130en and Snap on MIG 130 Turbo's.
However I am stuck with what kind of prices to hold out for these kind of welders, and not many seem to be on fleabay locally. Any other alternatives?
Thanks in advanced guys

So the welder... First some key facts:
- Has to run of 50meter 240v extension cable
- Have covered garage space to weld
- No prior welding experience
- Only really interested in car welding at moment
- Have a Co2 bottle used for home-brew beer
- Around £200 to spend on welder itself
- Happy with 2nd hand
