Do any of you knowledgable chaps have experience of Laycock or Tecalemit four-post ramps?
I bought an old Laycock High Speed about a year ago, and I'm finally getting around to installing it in a barn for hobby use. It's a sturdy old thing from the 1970s but it's got a new-ish single-phase motor.
The problem is I'm struggling with the installation - obviously it didn't come with a manual, so I could do with some kind of dimensions for mounting the legs to the concrete. I've bolted down two legs on one side, and fitted new safety springs and rods. I've test-fitted the other side but the safety arms jam on the rods as it goes up or down. And when it's up it swings around too much for my liking.
I assumed the solution would be to hire a ramp engineer to complete the installation but they won't do it without replacing the ropes too - simply because the ropes don't have a current safety certificate (even though they're in great condition and relatively new). They're asking for £630-plus anything else they find, which is just prohibitive.
Any ideas, anyone? All advice is appreciated...
