i am having seemingly endless trouble getting the twin drive belts on my colchester lathe to stop squealing like a stuck pig, there is two pulleys, one on the drive motor and one on the gearbox shaft , its the one on the gearbox that is squealing.
the belts are A84 and are brand new bought last Friday. i have adjusted the belt tension from what i thought was correct all the way to having them like a bowstring and they still squeal, i took off the gearbox pulley and it was glazed so i roughed up the surfaces with 60 grit paper and it still squeals.
anyone any ideas whats causing this problem ?
