Hello All
I have read a few posts on here in regards to people setting up a shot blasting business, few and far apart in most parts of the country.
I`m in the process of making a business plan for something along the same lines with laser rust removing equipment, very expensive equipment but I cannot find anyone online who does this yet so difficult to cost prices.
Generally I found shot blasting varies from £30 to £60 per hour, my wonder is how much more would anyone want to pay to have something cleaned by laser, it leaves no residue, it only removes the oxide so leaves the original item back nearer to its original state than shot blasting if its a delicate piece, i.e really old vintage car parts or anything that needs delicate cleaning
Working at a £60 per hour rate and maybe get 30 hours a week of actual cleaning done I could repay my outlay in 5 years with a decent wage left over for myself, as there are no materials to buy other than the machine overheads are a little easier to calculate.
I have to look into how to market it, at what sectors to aim at, probably the rusty gate brigade wont be my target audience.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Peter
