I used waxoyle to smear on machines that were waiting to be restored, sometimes left outside for a couple of years. When I restored them I found the layer would come off with a stanley blade leaving a well preserved surface. It works its way into threads as well making disasembly easier. I had an old tin I bought 32years ago when I bought my first car MGB.
I've been using lanoguard inside my workshop on machine surfaces and I'm still getting rust.
Mostly use it for keeping condensation off of machine tools and measuring instruments. Excellent at that job, it is...do you not find it washes off almost straight away ? is good for internal or sheltered parts
