Evening all.
I've been asked to give my mate a hand with repairing a 1994 Defender 110 which has corrosion to the rear chassis rails.
I understand that a repair assembly is available as below,
which would appear to cover the extent of the problem.
It's obvious that the fuel tank will need to come out,
but that's as far as my assessment for difficulties of replacement from that point onwards have gone.
Here's the near side rail:
And the offside, which is the worst affected of the two side:
Has anyone carried out this type of repair and could offer any tips / advice before we bite off more than we can chew? My mate is a full time fabricator / sheet metal worker, so no issues on that side of things.
Some idea of time would be helpful as well!
