In over 60 years of living in the U.S. I've never heard of anyone using Lacquer Thinner in a petrol (gas) tank ?Thanks for the replies.
Putting "Lacquer Thinner" in the petrol tank is a normal practice in the USA.
Lacquer thinner evaporates extremely fast, is a great cleaning agent, and is excelent for use as a cutting fluid when tapping threads in aluminium. It will enable cutting perfectly formed threads even for the smallest screws, such as 2-56 size, and leave no residue.
