I made these around 25 years ago at work whilst the job was a bit slack!
The curved sword was just a bit of 1/2" packing offcut and could be anything (Except stainless as it rusted when it was in the loft for ten years!!) but the double edged sword I hammered out of a high carbon sharpening steel!
The scales on the curved one I carved from an old deal pallet (They were good quality back then!), The brass handle/Knuckle guard I carved two bits of pine wood and used them for patterns for a mould and poured them in brass!
All the stock removal and polishing was done by hand (No electric involved except for drilling holes!)
I also put a knife together, Can't really say I made it as the bevels were already ground!, It came as a kit but I only used the blade, I used my own timber and immitation ivory!!
I repaired this Claymore wall hanger a couple of weeks ago for the friend of a work mate, The tang had snapped, Turned out the first bit of the tang at the blade end was forged but had a 6mm threaded rod welded to to it, I welded the rod back on!!
It's a big sod, The other curved sword is a full sized Katana, It's dwarfed by the Claymore!!
Years ago I started buying provisions in for making knives in a part of my garage, One of my sheds collapsed through rot and all the stuff got jammed in to the garage so that put an end to my knife making!!
I hope to get around to starting making although I replaced the little 6x4 shed that collapsed with a 10 footer, The flippin' garage is still full!!
To the op, Beautiful bevels and plunge lines on your knives
