Wife said I could spend £100 (ish) on tools for my birthday so I ordered a dewalt dcd776, two 18V batteries and a charger from screwfix for £99, and a body-only dcd776 from Amazon for £38.
The first kit arrived and sounded sweet for a few seconds and then started sounding like it was putting bolts threw a grinder. Second drill arrived and it sounds sweet as a nut.
Here's a video of the two, and it doesn't make the "broken" drill sound at bad as it does in real life.
My question is, before I send it back (which is going to be a pain), does anyone have any idea of how to remedy the issue? It kind of sounds like the gearbox isn't engaging and I've played with the switches to no effect.
I'm 99% sure the suggestion is going to be to just send it back...
