As others will know, you can make an attractive lamp out of an old vintage telephone
Or they’re quite sought after as just phones.
But besides from that, there must be a way to do it if existing products are on the market!
But a cheap pair of license-free PMR Walkie talkies, take out the innards. Glue the mics and speakers into the appropriate bits of the phone handsets. connect to the curly phone lead, then glue the radio innards in the phone base. Arrange a power supply to your taste. It would be fun to have an old landline phone which worked as a walkie talkie off an internal nicad or something, that would really confuse the millenials..
Cheap and quite easy, you may need to experiment with leaving them both on permanent send, or using the PTT buttons etc, and they have voice scramblers for those secret shed conversations
