I know RAF Trimingham used to mess with cars, I think it's unlikely that something like this is the issue though, it seems far more likely that it's a fault with the car itself and not caused by some outside interference.I've seen such things happen when going through a strong radar field. No military bases close are there? Happens sometimes near Fylingdales according to the AA. My Disco has a 'electronic compass' in the mirror that went crazy and needed a factory reset to point in the right direct after we went past something similar down in the West country.
