If you are making your own hoses and don't require test certs for them them what about Eaton reusable fittings, they just screw together without a crimping machine.
What make is it?They are excellent when they work... but I find them very fussy on hose grade/quality. Used them on pressure washer fittings quite a bit and sometimes will push the inner liner back and cause a blockage in the line.
We have a hydraulic crimper and it's the boy.
I'm pretty sure these are the people I saw at the Royal Welsh, it was a few years a go so prices will have changed

I've only looked into it as I have an old Series Landrover with a cherry picker and I suspect a swager would pay for itself with the amount of hoses on it as I'd like to renew them all.
The one guy I spoke to said the issue for many hydraulics places is the amount of fittings they have to carry to be viable but if you know exactly what fittings you need then the hose and fittings aren't massively expensive.
If you need it for yourself and get through a lot of hoses it’s worth itWhere I worked we had an electric one it was great once there was a 30amp supply to it
It payed for its self in no time
There’s a Parker store about 15 minutes from me so picking up the fittings in a hurry and the hose isn’t an issue and should still save a bunch.

Good for getting going quickly but to be avoided as a proper fix.
They mostly work but can sometimes blow off, modern hydraulic systems can run at higher pressures than they used to and these fittings aren’t to be relied upon.
id be a bit carefull there too doing your own hoses tooI'm pretty sure these are the people I saw at the Royal Welsh, it was a few years a go so prices will have changed
