Right lads, i need to be able to attach a rats tail switch off my torches to the fore end of my winchester shotgun, it has a hardwood (walnut from what i can find on the winchester site) fore stock with a satin finish.
the material on the switch is currently insulation tape as i had to cut the original cover (heat shrink) off to repair the switch and didnt have any more heatshrink the right size.
requirements are:
i dont want to use sticky backed velcro like i have done with my rifles as i dont want anything on the stock when im not using the torches, its fine on the rifles as they usually have a torch on them anyway and very rarely used without some form of torch/night vision.
at the moment im using insulation tape to secure the switch but its not the best, especially in the rain as cycling the action agitates the tape and it starts to slide about a bit and it uses up a fair bit of my tape.
a picture so you can see what im talking about

requirements are:
- must be removable without leaving any residue on the wood
- must be strong (wont allow movement of the switch side/side front/back)
- must not interfere with the operation of the switch (momentary push button and latching button on top of switch)
