Trouble with 200mts of ducting will be the need for drawpits/manholes every 50mts, landowner may not want them in his field.
Bob
not a lot of strength required to drop it in a trench, or put it on a tray.... pulling 200 metres in a sleeve, even straight/ flat good luck...
helped a friend pulling laterials/sub mains in flats, few weeks was more than enoughnot a lot of strength required to drop it in a trench, or put it on a tray.... pulling 200 metres in a sleeve, even straight/ flat good luck...
when I did the workshop, it was only 85 metres, 4G35 armoured, (if I remember rightly or maybe 50mm²? ) we laid the sleeve out flat pulled the cable through the sleeve, with the pull wire, and then dropped it in the hole, and backfilled, with the rise and fall of the land we had, you'd never pull it in by hand, easy enough when out in the open, and pulling it in with a digger seems a like a good way of damaging it to me, but each to their own method.
Ok mate, if you say so...If you use the correct pull rope you won't damage it with a machine as the rope will snap first. And using it like a capstan means a groundworker can feather it while being close to the drawpit.

Seriously doubt any site would allow you to wrap a rope round the tracks of a digger to pull a cable in, certainly none I've been on but if it's on Google, must be true eh.....Honestly how do you think it's done commercially?? Do you think we still have gangs of blokes pulling a bit of sting.

atlas winches 10minutes from my house build and maintain themTo be fair there are cable winches that are trailer mounted and work in a much similar way to a machine track, they are usually metal drum to wrap the draw rope round.
BT use them a lot on their cable installs & upgrades!
