That’s a bloody nice shedI’ve just moved into my new “shed” so it’s fairly tidy, but it’s getting fuller and fuller by the day!
I now have a nice garage/workshop. Didn't used to. I understand the reasons the for hanging bits off the ceiling but I really don't want to end up with a sagging flar roof collecting water. The ceiling is currently unencumbered until I really run out of space.
Yep nice big shed, well how big and you are right it won't take too long to fill, even with sorting and racking. It is quite amazing just how much shi! I mean stuff we accumulate over time. Jobs come in and we will just put that over there for later, so on and so forth, till you just almost can't stand or move. That is regardless of the space available, the more space you have the more shi! again I mean the more stuff you have, carry, store, build etc. I have 330m^2 floor space and have already moved out two motor bikes, water blaster, Diesel towable compressor, boiler for the water blaster and scrapped much stuff. A couple of new toys a bigger job to repair / modify and place is full again. When I first saw my place, lets be straight, it was positively huge. Eight years down the track, I could easily do with another 150m^2. It is also a matter of what is the work that ones does. In the begining, most of my work was on fishing boats and out on site, so workshop was basically to store toys with minimal work there. Since them I have branched out to other fields building and repairing things in the workshop, hence space requirements. We just don't know what we will be doing in the future, all we know is that we will have to adaptI’ve just moved into my new “shed” so it’s fairly tidy, but it’s getting fuller and fuller by the day!
The best way to create space imo is to hang stuff from walls and ceilings.
People assume there space is full because they think 2 dimensionally. Floor space mtr2.
If you can reach the ceiling then use it. All my aluminium tube, g clamps corner clamps, torches, some fishing rods etc are suspended from the ceiling.
