This hoop is to be one of several that hold a series land rover axle on to the springs. The others are standard shape and can be bought but as this is a discovery axle conversion the standard flat top one won't fit
The one pictured is a cut and shut of two old U bolts that we made to use as a pattern. Whilst it torques up ok I would prefer to have one continuous piece of rod
I presume I start with high tensile rod and simply bend it but should I bend it cold or heat it first. I assume cold as I don't want to ruin the high tensile status
