Afternoon,
I've restored my old Landrover chassis, and I want to preserve it as best I can.
It's ex MOD, and so has paint on the insides of the chassis rails, which can't be blasted off.
The standard solution is to get it double dipped, but that's really expensive, as they blast off the zinc from the first dipping, then re dip. I've been quoted upwards of £700 for doing this.
So, I'm wondering if there is a cheaper, smarter way to shift the internal paint? Perhaps applying a MAPP blowtorch along the chassis, and burn it off from the outside?
Or, more fun, fill it with petrol and light it, from a distance!!!!
There has to be a way, even if it's using a garden sprayer to apply nitromoors.
I'll get the outside blasted, that's easy.
Any one know a clever solution?
Thanks.
