Currently got an ERP150 about 10 years old.
Played up last year with the wire feed, need a new steel liner and dont mind butchering.
Use Ergoshield but have in the past taken it to places that fill fire extinguishers. They only top it up to about 120/130 bar and no heater required, although i have one knocking around somewhere.
In a mad panic since i need the car daily, no buts, i replaced the cat for a 200 cell jobby, more power and economy. Problem was all the joints were cut and tacked in place under the car so eliminating stress and alignment problems.
You guessed it, first run of weld like a pro there on after it was a case of getting the wire out at all. Cleaned the liner as much as i could with compressed air and had to tension the roller which pulled out the M6 nut.
In a need to weld a miller draw bar i tryed clamping by other means- mole grips now only a relay trips in on the wire feed.
Are better or replacement wire feeds available?
Also with above would it be better to scrap considering a Clark 150/151/160EN is around £220/230?
First mig was an SIP100 about 21/22 years ago with the sprung tensioner on wire feed. Pretty much useless for welding after two weeks even with a pro steel liner, tips and shroud adapted to suit.
