Hi, on my second 10L bottle Aluweld, 70/30 Argon Helium. At the time they were the same price as 100% Argon. Stumped for the extra Helium as I'd like to do some Aluminium from time to time.
First bottle was fine and most of it used on Stainless steel.
I'm very new to TIG welding.
Come to the new bottle and the weld pool bubbles and erupts away. I tried to get some Arc shots but the phone camera behind a shade 11 lens doesn't pick up the pool, but perhaps the sound and sparks will enlighten:
I've attached some photos, no filler just running the torch across.
8lpm, 90A, 2.4mm grey tungstens.
Feels like reasonable air flow from the end of the torch.
I use a bought new in 2020 Jasic TIG200 but the ramp down doesn't always work.
The steel shown are pieces brought back from when I took the Level 1 course at Wilkinson Star in Manchester.
The bubbling / erupting is also on other steel pieces I've tried. To double check I run a bead with my MIG which welds just fine.
