But its not supposed to be very good for learning on?
Yep. 1/25000 or better.

That's not fair to SIP Tam. What I actually said was that you need something "forgiving" to learn on & the SIP wire feed cannot be the most forgiving at times, particularly with age.
As with all MIGs, the wire feed/torch has to be kept well serviced to get the very best performance.

My question to weldequip was "would you use this helmet" answer was basically yes - except for the availability of just about any gear he needs, thus more likely to use the £250 helmet rather than the £60 one.
Welding snobs - whatever next!
I must take the trusty camera down to the workshop when I am off work on Thursday - you can all be entertained by my first go at welding - on a 3cm thick steel frame!
But 1/30000 is faster than 1/25000?
1/25,000 sec = 0.04 ms
The helmet changes in 0.033ms which is 0.007ms faster.
You paying attention Steve?
Ashy's had you there mate.
Just been pondering that one Si!
On reaction times, something that reacts in 1/4 of the time is faster than something that works in 1/3 of the time is it not?
