Hi
New to this forum and loving it, have learnt loads already!
Im setting up a small mixed use workshop (spray painting, woodwork + metalwork) and I'm trying to find a multi use bender for mild steel flat bar, box section & tube. This Clarke model pops up again and again in this forum and looks like it will do the job, and reviews seem positive, however I came across this fella from the States:
http://www.metalbendingtool.com/pro-2-bender
Its basically the same machine as the Clarke bender but the (big) difference being the additional dies they sell which enable the bending of box section and (I think most impressively) the bending of flat bar, as they say on the site, "the hard way" ie on the greatest width, rather than the smallest. Does that make sense? Theres a youtube video here of how they do it, about half way in, using a edge bend die:
http://www.metalbendingtool.com/
Now I'm in no way plugging this company, on the contrary - I can't believe there isn't a company in the UK that sells these dies, that are compatible with the Clarke Bender - Does anyone know a supplier that sells these, here??
Any thoughts on this subject would be appreciated - I know alot of people make custom-made jigs to bend but as I will be doing alot of different bends over a long period of time I'd rather use a machine like the Clarke Bender but with a bit more functionality
Please help!
Many thanks
Best
Edward
