hi, firstly id like to say what a great forum and sorry for the waffling on.
I need some advice on buying a mig welder, i have a rusty suzuki vitara project needing alot of work to the panels and a small patch on the chassis crossmember. i have an arc welder in which i have taught myself to use and have used for projects from roofracks to replacing a sill. However i would like to buy a mig as i have heard it would be easier/better to use, can anyone give me some advice on to how easy or hard it will be to learn to mig weld after using arc welders? also as i will be welding mainly outdoors and due to the price of hiring and filling a big gas bottle i would ideally like a dual purpose welder so i have the choice to use gas. would gasless be ok for body panels? i am looking at the machine mart range, can anyone recommend a welder which has low enough amp settings and would be good enough to use on body panels? my budget is ideally sub £200. high amps for thick metal is not important as ill use the arc welder for that type.
thanks for any advice.
