If you are looking for a set that you can use on thin material, look for a used pro standard machine with pulse feature. Amperage wise in the real world its often the case that a quality 200 amp machine, will be more powerful than a 250 amp that isnt as well made, so if you can try before you buy.
The low end manufacturers make some very optomistic claims about amp ratings and duty cycles and there is no one there to stop them , as far as I can see they can put what they like on the label so as time goes by the ratings seem to get better and better as they try to outdo each other . Have a good look at the different quality torches fitted , once you have had a look at ( and had a feel ) a good one like a Murex you will be able to see which are crap and you need a good one for 10mm.
I expect it's been replaced by a new model now as it's knocking on 10 years old but my Migiatronic 301 is fine with car bodywork & that's mainly with 0.8 wire, changing to 0.6 would improve it further.
