Hi, I am syafi, just registered few moment ago after deciding i should
participate in this community instead of just reading the article and threads
I bought my first welding machine about 3 month ago, a cheap used 20
year old oil cooled transformer with 3 setting 90.110.130 amp Arc welder.
I learn with it to weld for about 3 week before its being stolen by
those poor scrap guys who i believe sold it for the copper inside.
Then, I read extensively before buying my second welding machine,
I was about to buy a Jasic 200P chinese welder but changed my mind
at last minute because of the article here. http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/buying-arc-welder.htm
all due to the OCV. instead i opt for a locally made
WIM ITG222P at twice the price of jasic.
I have been training to weld TIG by watching youtube videos and now my
weld are impressive or so i think. I am just a bit slow at times
which make the s/s glow red sometime.
I have been training while at the same time fabricating several small
door gate, dress hanger and windows afety gate. well its boring just
to train on flat metal I had quite some junk there just by
welding, then cut it off and replace the whole pipe etc because of either
mistakes or warping but now all is good, Tillman kidskin Glove bought
from HTP weld off ebay might have something to do with improved filler
rod feeding
I have 1 problem now, I want to cut a 304L S/S 1.5mm X 100mm round
pipe at 45° and weld it in reverse so it will be like " L " once done and give
a good 90° angle. I only have Bosch GCO 2000 and when i screw the bolt
to secure the pipe, the pipe get distorted and a bit oval instead of round,
and once it is cut, its not 45° anymore and it dont match nicely when
i want to weld it, so my end job is not as nice as it would have been if
i can cut it with nice fitting.
This was the sole reason i bought the welder and everything , to make
my own rocket stove to sell in ebay, instead of waiting for 2-3 week for the
welding shop in my place to get it done,
Any idea to make a good holder for the pipe for me to use while cutting
it would be great. Thanks.
