Welcome to the forum. No projects in mind then? You ought to find MIG easier than stick, and it's a handy thing to have around.
If you haven't picked one up yet it's worth asking on the forum whether the one you want to buy will do what you need to do - shocking number of nasty cheapy ones around at the moment that most likely won't.
I think you've made a good choice with taking up MIG. It is probably THE easiest process to learn and has many uses. I mainly use my MIG for my car restoration project, but do occasionally use it for the odd job around the house and have used it for repairing various bits and pieces the neighbours have in the past.
If you're not into cars, then a MIG can come in handy for the odd job that needs to be done around the house such as repairng a garden gate/fence etc or fabricating something which previously wouldn't have been very easy without access to a welder.
