Might have to see if there's somewhere around the Northampton area that could fit one for me. Must be cheaper than paying £100 for the kit to fix one thread.
I'm a Timesert fan too but a helicoil will be a cheaper repair and perfectly adequate for a thermostat housing.
Not a fan of helicoil repairs to cylinder head spark plug holes.
Two strokes don't like gas flow obstruction around the plug points.I had an RD200 that always seem to foul one plug, so pulled the heads off and found one had been helicoiled leaving about 5mm of coil sticking out into the combustion chamber!, my dad took it into the toolroom at work where they machined the excess off, it ran fine after that
I've used them to skim a few cylinder heads over the years, they've always been really helpful.Headline MK near Newport Pagnell should be able to do it. They're very helpful.
