Hello,
I have a spare helmet that got the plastic bolt pulled through the headband bit. It refused to stay up which lead to GRRR.. got abused.. So I have tried using some special, for plastic epoxy resin to hold it tightly around the bolt. The epoxy is falling off. I am thinking of either wrapping the nut part of the headband in wire but I think the best solution is to add a thin aluminum sheet (ex serving tray) to hold, from the inside side, the headband onto the bolt and still provide use (put up, hold then nod ,down). A replacement headband costs 26 pounds or more so not really and option.
I am also thinking of putting the battery pack further back to better balance the helmet when up. Bit worried it might come down too quick though.
Anyone else got anything that worked for them in a similar situation? How have you adapted the helmet you have to what you need / dream of?
K.
