im making a stainless steel exhaust system (including manifold) for my kitcar.
im using a sip migmate 100 with 316 wire and argon/c02 gas.
im actually getting the welds looking reasonable, but have just tryed filling the tubes up with water to see if the weld's have sealed, but water seems to seep through the welds, its not pouring through, but it causes the weld to go wet, so its obviously leeking very slightly, which im assuming will cause the exhaust gasses to escape?
ive got the mig set on a lowish setting, so could it be its not penetrating properly? just if i have it on higher i seem to be burning through a lot.
anyone got any ideas?
cheers
