even if I was offered an apprenticeship, I would have to turn it down, I got a house and 4 kids to support, 3 quid an hour is just not gonna cut it :-( besides, at 40 I guess not too many firms are looking for adult apprentices.
Same boat mate, turn 35 next week, 2 kids rented house. Im starting c+g level 2 at college next week and looking at realistic options ive got in the future as a welder. The way my currwnt employment situation is, im not holding my breath ill be in a job in 12 months the way were loosing contract, abit worrying after 14 years with the same firm :-/
