An old work friend of mine has an Hardinge which has an electrical problem. Basically, it will only run at a single speed and trying to ’dial down’ does nothing. He’s had the drum thing replaced but this hasn’t resolved the problem. He’s been quoted stupid money for someone to just look at it and a repair estimate of around £2500.
Someone did suggest it might be the motor, but
you could go on like this all day.
I’m totally lost for any suggestion, mainly because electrics (especially 3 phase) aren’t my strong point, but I said I’d post it on here for any words of wisdom or suggestions. He’s in Cheltenham if there are any recommendations for someone who might be able to help. Cheers.
