What an absolute bell end, that is totally ridiculous
Just leave the exhaust in the sea like it looks as if this one was, it'll sound similar afterwards. This is making me want a Jap 4 again- it’s been years but they sound so much better than my 1150GS twin.
Just change the end can for something like an Akrapovic, it will then sound like a proper twinThis is making me want a Jap 4 again- it’s been years but they sound so much better than my 1150GS twin.
Nah, I had fours for years, but much prefer my r1100r now. I've had a Bandit 1200 and a Zephyr 1100 recently, but sold both, and kept the BM.This is making me want a Jap 4 again- it’s been years but they sound so much better than my 1150GS twin.
But it's the sound of the 4 - more of a whistle/whoosh than a thump..Nah, I had fours for years, but much prefer my r1100r now. I've had a Bandit 1200 and a Zephyr 1100 recently, but sold both, and kept the BM.
I love the blat-blat of BMW boxer twins although the frenetic revs of an inline 4 (or 6 ) is very pleasing as well. But it's the sound of the 4 - more of a whistle/whoosh than a thump..
I'll be keeping the GS - it's comfortable, fast enough - I'd just like a better soundtrack
As with any conversation about bikes, the answer seems to have come round to "You need more".I love the blat-blat of BMW boxer twins although the frenetic revs of an inline 4 (or 6 ) is very pleasing as well.
Or less is moreAs with any conversation about bikes, the answer seems to have come round to "You need more".
That doesn't seem to be the approach where bikes are concerned. More seems to refer to :- bikes, cylinders, power, noise, speed, grip etcOr less is more
Piper, now there's a blast from the past!I used to like the sound from the Piper system on my GS850

From the collectors back there's loads of options, but the downpipes are unique to the 1100G naturally. Fortunately a bloke I know has a set that are serviceable and I'm meeting him and others for some beers and bikes do up North a week on Saturday. So he's going to bring them along for me.
Plus a couple in Coventry, one in Leamington and no doubt others we've forgotten about.Don't think there's any bike breakers left in Brum these days used to be some on the Stratford Rd and a good one in West Bromwich.

I believe there are a few car breakers near the Stratford Road in Sparkbrook, but they tend to work to order if you know what I mean.
Less weight...... as I have got older less cylinders, have no longer got a 3 or 4 cylinder just twins and singles.. My ideal bike has changed from max hp and grip to adequate hp and grip, for a run round my local single track roads something like a 1950's Matchless single is ideal, light enough to take to the verge if required and enough power for roads that you will never get over 50 mph on, suspect it is a bit noisier than any legal modern bikeThat doesn't seem to be the approach where bikes are concerned.
