The problem with those combos is no lung protection, I have a couple of them and they did not work well with a mask on, they misted up, so I tended to leave the mask off.
I have been using an old airfed mask for woodworking- this is the new version http://www.axminster.co.uk/trend-airshield-pro , however if you read the reviews, it has a mixed reception.
If you scroll down the page, there are alternatives from 3m.
Talking of 3m, I have just got one of these
it works brill with eye protection and does not mist up and I just put my ear defenders on.
What I am not clear on is if either of the masks are suitable protection against grinding dust, at the moment I am working on the principle that anything is better than nothing.
Jim Davey has a thread on here where he mentions a mask and goggle combo, I'm rubbish at finding threads/posts, but you will find it, think it was to do with dirty welders or summat like that.
I am leaning towards one of these :http://www.migtigarc.co.uk/Welding_...-_tl_multiview_combination_auto_welding_.html
but not sure how they work with ear defenders, or how practical they are in actual use, further research needed,so at the mo, its the three piece combo for me.
The guy in the picture is wearing separates. I do this all the time and have no issues, in fact I add a dust mask when grinding these days also. You don't steam up so much as using glasses / goggles.
Using the chainsaw or brush cutter I have a mesh visor-helmet-muffs in one. its a pain to get the fit just right on all three so if I only have the strimmer head on the brush cutter I again loose the hat and wear each item individually
gone away from goggles and specs for most uses, getting hit in the face from steel pins off the wire brush and other such stuff that can let go isn't good.
