Evening All,
Would be great to know peoples thoughts on how good a surface plate needs to be for scraping. Bearing in mind I’m amateur (will be better soon after course with @pressbrake1 )
I’m assuming that .01mm overall is going to be better than I can deliver. My plate I’m currently using is worn and around .01mm approx without measuring really careful.
The stuff I’m scraping at the moment is only to make falter than before and not a travelling machine surface so not too concerned.
I want to scrape my mill in in future after much more practice on a smaller mill I have here.
What grade would you recommend and best way to get hold of that at sensible money?
Would you go grade 0 or 00? I’m assuming 00 would be pointless in my garage workshop environment.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
