Good point, and thinking about it he would not have had a car in the '40's, he was 14 at the end of WW11, just before he left school to work as a porter and eventually road driver for BR at the village station. We ordered 1200 liters of heating oil 2 weeks ago and it's still not been delivered! We paid 46p ish a litre, mmm I wonder what's happening here?
I bet they're holding out to make us cancel the oil so they can sell it at the higher price!

And generally no overtime?
The staff at Rover had to work more than 4 hours overtime in a week before they started getting paid for it.
Overtime was considered part of our "rolled up" salary . . until new HR peeps said there was no such thing . . I did produce my contract which said there was . . .And generally no overtime?
