I used to work for a company who were seriously in to metal to metal adhesive bonding. One of the major products was a steel pipe (150-200mm dia, made a bit like the tube at the centre of a toilet roll; layers of material wound diagonally on top of each other. It could withstand a hell of a pressure and I think was guaranteed for 10 (or fifteen years) . Unfortunately, t'was a long time ago, I cannot remember what glue they used, and it's probably long-disappeared off the market. The maraging steel was grit blasted prior to bonding.
