Make sure the gate can't be lifted of its hinges too! (They'll pinch the gates and come back for everything else the next night!)
... my point here is if someone wants to get in they will, so make something that is a good visible deterrent and slows down the average scumbag...
The easy way to stop a hacksaw from cutting a box section is to drop a loose round bar in the box, it'll roll when the blade hits it, getting a bit carried away now though for a garage,
16mm is only 6 quid for a 6.2m length
Weight wise....
12mm round 0.89kg/m
16mm round 1.58kg/m
40x10 flt 2.51kg/m
40x40x3 shs 3.45kg/m
At a rough guess of about 2.2m x 2.2m using 40x40x3 frame, 40x10 flat mid rail and 12mm round, about 75kg, using 16mm infills, about 100kg, using 12mm square, about 80kg.
A lot of leverage on the top hinge, something nice and solid to fix to?
then why the hell did i pay 2 pound per metre for 12mm round bar last year then they seen me coming
A goal post arrangement sound good Paul, i take it theres nothing that solid then?
