Hello,
I am looking to buy a welder...wanted a multi process ac/dc mig+tug....but parweld xtm211di is so expensive.
So now looking at tig only ac/dc so I can weld aluminium.
I will be welding in a garage attached to the house with a room above it also where kids play.....so safety is paramount.
Am I correct in thinking tig welding is much safer than mig as there is not the molten sparks to potentially fire light any surrounding stuff?
What additional precautions could be taken please to keep the house safe?
I will keep the garage door open, shield the area from passers by, blanket off a gas/electric meter on the inside of the house......make a welding trolley and secure bottle for tig welding.
But am I fundamentally missing anything to be wary of in buying a rig to weld in an internal garage?
Thanks,
Chris
