O optima21 Member Messages 4,353 Location halifax, England Jun 4, 2017 #2 depends on the materials you're soldering together and the silver solder alloy you're using. the two I use are easyflo flux (operating range 550 to 800C) and tenacity no.5 flux (operating temperature 600 to 900C) the easyflo flux can be used on stainless upto 700C above that temperature use tenacity no.5 http://www.jm-metaljoining.com/

BOC used to sell one called Silfux. I've used it to good effect anchoring steel cable into fittings. RonA
