Hey guys, just building up a kitchen unit for a van and just done the cut out for the induction hob. Appreciate this is more carpentry that metalwork but I’ve found this is usually a good pace to ask for reliable advice!
It would be nice to route this out so it’s flush with the worktop, but I’m unsure if I’ll have issues with water ingress around the sides etc. it’s a bamboo worktop that’s 16mm thick and the hob would need sinking in about 6mm which doesn’t leave much meat. However space underneath to add some additional timber for a bit more strength.
are there typically any problems flush mounting a hob in a timber worktop? If it’s going to cause dramas I won’t bother but it would definitely look nice.
