I was just thinking (dangerous I know) why do we have flashback arrestors on the oxygen regulator when it's a non-flammable gas?
if the acetylene mixes with the oxygen in the pipes u can get a burnback hence it can only go as far back as the arestors its only happened to me once. one way checkvalves are fitted in the lines but that doesnt guarantee it when they are reset and u turn the torch back on a lot of soot flows out of the nozzleI was just thinking (dangerous I know) why do we have flashback arrestors on the oxygen regulator when it's a non-flammable gas?
